As the first point of contact in the surgical journey, you’ll carry out thorough pre-operative assessments, working closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure patients are fully prepared for their procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Safe & Effective Pre-Operative Care

  • Conduct comprehensive pre-assessment screenings prior to surgery
  • Identify potential risks and ensure patients are medically fit for procedures
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

Support Patients with Compassion

  • Provide reassurance, clear guidance, and emotional support
  • Ensure patients and their families fully understand treatment plans
  • Deliver personalised, patient-centred care at every stage

Work Within a Multidisciplinary Team

  • Collaborate with consultants, nurses, and allied health professionals
  • Ensure continuity of care across departments
  • Contribute to smooth and efficient surgical pathways

Develop Clinical Expertise

  • Build knowledge across new technologies, equipment, and procedures
  • Maintain high standards of clinical practice and patient safety
  • Continuously enhance your assessment and decision-making skills

What We’re Looking For

  • Registered Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • Post-registration experience in a clinical or hospital setting
  • Strong assessment, communication, and organisational skills
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to high-quality patient care
  • A collaborative team player with a compassionate approach
