About the Opportunity
We are currently hiring a compassionate Registered Nurse for a permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE) within the East Christchurch team. Working across Tuesday to Thursday, this role offers a balanced schedule while allowing you to make a lasting difference in your community.
This is not your typical hospital-based position. Instead, you’ll deliver community nursing care directly to families—building trust, offering guidance, and supporting early childhood development in real-life settings.
Your Role as a Registered Nurse
As a Registered Nurse, you will act as both a clinical expert and a trusted advisor to families, supporting them through the critical early years of a child’s life.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct growth and development assessments for pēpi and tamariki
- Provide personalised health education and clinical advice to whānau
- Build strong, trust-based relationships through home visits and clinic interactions
- Deliver culturally appropriate, patient-centered care
- Identify concerns early and coordinate referrals to support services
- Promote safe, healthy environments for families and children

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential Requirements
- Registered Nurse with a valid practicing certificate (or eligibility)
- Full clean NZ driver’s licence
- Commitment to completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Well Child Tamariki Ora (fully funded)
- Strong clinical judgement and decision-making skills

Salary & Benefits

- $66,222 – $94,842 per year
