Job Description

“Take care of our children… for how they grow will shape the future.” This powerful message reflects the heart of this opportunity. As a Registered Nurse in Christchurch, you won’t just provide care—you’ll help shape healthier beginnings for pēpi (babies), tamariki (children), and their whānau.

If you’re searching for a meaningful nursing job in New Zealand that blends clinical expertise with community impact, this role offers purpose, flexibility, and deep human connection.

About the Opportunity

We are currently hiring a compassionate Registered Nurse for a permanent part-time role (0.6 FTE) within the East Christchurch team. Working across Tuesday to Thursday, this role offers a balanced schedule while allowing you to make a lasting difference in your community.

This is not your typical hospital-based position. Instead, you’ll deliver community nursing care directly to families—building trust, offering guidance, and supporting early childhood development in real-life settings.

Your Role as a Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse, you will act as both a clinical expert and a trusted advisor to families, supporting them through the critical early years of a child’s life.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct growth and development assessments for pēpi and tamariki
  • Provide personalised health education and clinical advice to whānau
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships through home visits and clinic interactions
  • Deliver culturally appropriate, patient-centered care
  • Identify concerns early and coordinate referrals to support services
  • Promote safe, healthy environments for families and children
