Role Description The Senior Nurse Manager for the High Risk OB Unit oversees daily clinical operations and nursing practice for a specialized obstetric unit caring for patients with complex and high-risk pregnancies. This full-time, on-site role in Orlando, FL includes leading and mentoring nursing staff, ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care, and promoting a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. The Senior Nurse Manager collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans, manage staffing levels, and optimize patient flow and resource utilization. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring quality and safety metrics, supporting performance improvement initiatives, managing budgets, and ensuring regulatory and policy compliance. The role also involves participating in strategic planning, supporting staff education and professional development, and fostering an environment that reflects AdventHealth’s commitment to whole-person care.
Qualifications

Ability to work on-site in Orlando, FL and maintain flexibility with scheduling based on unit needs.
 

Demonstrated Nursing Management skills, including leadership of clinical teams, staffing oversight, and unit operations.

Strong Nursing and Patient Care skills with experience in obstetrics, maternal-child health, or related clinical settings.

Knowledge of Medicine and Critical Care Medicine principles as they apply to high-risk obstetric patients.

Current registered nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Florida or eligibility to obtain licensure.

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) required; master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.

Progressive experience in acute care nursing, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities; high-risk OB or women’s services experience strongly preferred.

Proficiency in clinical decision-making, crisis management, and coordination of complex care scenarios.

Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage and support diverse team members and patients.

Commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
