Key Responsibilities

Surgical & Clinical Care

  • Provide direct nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and sterile environments
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations
  • Monitor patient vitals and respond to intraoperative changes

Patient Safety & Advocacy

  • Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols
  • Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
  • Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams
  • Maintain clear and accurate patient documentation
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices
  • Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to perform under pressure in high-intensity environments
  • Effective teamwork and communication abilities
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and safety

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario
  • Experience in operating room or surgical nursing preferred
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including rotating schedules

Work Schedule

Shifts may vary based on operational needs and include:

  • 07:00 – 15:00
  • 07:30 – 15:30
  • 07:30 – 19:30
  • 09:00 – 17:00
  • 15:00 – 23:00

Schedules are subject to change.

Salary & Benefits

  • Hourly Rate: $41.15 – $58.98
  • Unionized position under ONA (Ontario Nurses’ Association)
