Key Responsibilities
Surgical & Clinical Care
- Provide direct nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, and sterile environments
- Assist surgeons and anesthesiologists during operations
- Monitor patient vitals and respond to intraoperative changes
Patient Safety & Advocacy
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and sterilization protocols
- Advocate for patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
- Conduct pre- and post-operative assessments
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with multidisciplinary surgical teams
- Maintain clear and accurate patient documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding care plans
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to perform under pressure in high-intensity environments
- Effective teamwork and communication abilities
- Commitment to patient-centered care and safety
Qualifications & Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ontario
- Experience in operating room or surgical nursing preferred
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and surgical procedures
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including rotating schedules
Work Schedule
Shifts may vary based on operational needs and include:
- 07:00 – 15:00
- 07:30 – 15:30
- 07:30 – 19:30
- 09:00 – 17:00
- 15:00 – 23:00
Schedules are subject to change.
Salary & Benefits
- Hourly Rate: $41.15 – $58.98
- Unionized position under ONA (Ontario Nurses’ Association)
