Role Overview: What a Nurse Does
As a NURSE in this memory care community, you will deliver high-quality clinical care while supporting residents emotionally and psychologically. This role involves assessment, care planning, supervision, and collaboration to ensure each resident receives personalized attention.
You will also serve as a leader to Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Resident Assistants, helping maintain a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities of a Nurse
Deliver Person-Centered Care
Assess resident needs, develop care plans, and provide ongoing nursing care tailored to individual conditions and preferences.
Medication and Treatment Management
Administer medications and treatments accurately, following physician orders and established nursing protocols.
Lead and Supervise Care Teams
Guide and support CNAs and Resident Assistants by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality care delivery.
Ensure Compliance and Safety
Adhere to local, state, and federal regulations, while maintaining infection control standards and workplace safety practices.
Support Residents and Families
Address concerns with empathy, respect advance directives, and provide emotional support during sensitive moments, including end-of-life care.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Credentials
- Active and valid nursing license
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Clean background check and health clearance
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in a senior living care or memory care setting
- Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
