Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Lab Technician. At Thermo Fisher Scientific, you’ll contribute to advancing scientific discovery and enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You’ll perform essential laboratory procedures including sample processing, testing, and analysis while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. You’ll handle biological specimens, prepare solutions, operate analytical instruments, and maintain detailed documentation of all procedures. This position offers hands-on experience in a laboratory environment where attention to detail and adherence to protocols is critical.
The successful candidate will join a team of scientists in the Mass Spectroscopy Team, which focuses on the identification and characterization of proteins, used to develop and manufacture clinical diagnostic kits for the measurement of important diagnostic markers in different disease states. The candidate will gain knowledge in sample preparation for analysis on a variety of different Mass Spectrometry platforms including MALDI TOF and LC-MS, along with data interpretation and report generation.
REQUIREMENTS:
No prior experience required
Preferred Fields of Study: Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or related field
Relevant certifications in laboratory techniques a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and aseptic techniques
Proficiency in handling and processing biological specimens and hazardous materials
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate documentation
Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) preferred
Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
Strong organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple tasks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work with hazardous materials and wear required PPE
Knowledge of GMP/GLP practices preferred
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
May require working in cold environments with exposure to dry ice and liquid nitrogen
Must follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace
