Caregiver Role Overview
This Caregiver position is ideal for individuals who want to make a real difference in aged care. You will support residents with their daily needs while promoting independence, dignity, and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
As a Caregiver, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing personal care and daily living support to residents
- Assisting with mobility, hygiene, and wellbeing needs
- Building positive relationships with residents and their families
- Supporting residents’ emotional and social wellbeing
- Maintaining a safe and respectful care environment
- Following health, safety, and care procedures
Your work will directly contribute to improving residents’ quality of life and overall wellbeing.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal Caregiver candidate will bring compassion, professionalism, and experience in healthcare support work.
Essential Requirements
- Experience providing care, preferably in aged care or residential care
- NZQA Level 3 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent qualification)
- At least 2 years of aged care experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A compassionate, positive, and patient approach
- Commitment to health and safety standards
A genuine passion for helping others is the most important quality for this role.
Employment Details
- Location: Nelson – Tasman District, New Zealand
- Position Type: Permanent Full-Time
- Hours: 32+ hours per week
- Shift Types: AM, PM, Night, and Weekend shifts
- Hourly Pay: Approximately $28.91 – $31.23 per hour
