Description
The Biomedical Equipment Technician I (BMET I) is a junior-level professional responsible for inspecting, configuring, troubleshooting, repairing, calibrating, and verifying the performance of general biomedical equipment. This role requires expertise in using specialized test equipment and tools to perform these duties. The BMET I assists other technicians with troubleshooting and major repairs of complex equipment. Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. 2-year degree in a technical/electronics field or applicable technical certificate and equivalent experience preferred.
Experience: 3 months of experience working with biomedical equipment in a clinical engineering environment preferred.
Certification: N/A
License: Valid Florida drivers license required; travel requirements depending on assigned location that may require the use of a personal vehicle.
Other: Basic understanding of electronics, mechanical systems, and biomedical equipment principles. Strong interest in clinical engineering and eagerness to learn on the job. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong written and verbal communication skills
